The next era of athletic performance is here, and it’s the individualized approach to all elements leading to improved athletic results.
Presenter: Coach Dan Garner (One of the brightest minds in the area of human physiology in the athletic performance industry specializing in high-level personalized online training and nutritional coaching for world-class results having worked with dozens of professional athletes in 13 different sports. Within his clientele he has worked with three Superbowl champions, two UFC title winners, one NBA championship winner, an Olympic gold medalist, two Olympic bronze medalists, two WWE champions, PGA tournament winners, IFBB bodybuilders, multiple Player of The Year athletes, two MLB MVP winners, three hall-of-fame inductees, and three all-time world record breakers.)
The transfer to athletic performance is specific to the rate/velocity and the range of motion of the joint during peak force output. If you want to run faster, you can’t simply strengthen the muscles being used. You have to strengthen the muscles at a similar velocity at which they will express force in a particular portion of a sprint.
Presenter: Coach Travis Mash, MSc and USA Weightlifting Senior International Coach (A former world record holding powerlifter as well as a former nationally ranked Olympic weightlifter and currently serves as the Head of Sports Science at Rise Indoor Sports, a facility filled with elite athletes in various sports like basketball, volleyball, soccer, and MMA. He founded and served as the Head Coach of Lenoir-Rhyne University Weightlifting and Powerlifting Teams, leading them to resounding success in their inaugural year winning the National Championship.

The common theme in the future of athletic performance is an individualized approach. Coach Mash will show you some of the most important KPI’s to track, how to track, and most importantly, how to respond to the data. The parameters that are easily tracked with his equipment from GymAware for Velocity-Based Training will also be a part of this presentation along with the implementation, sustainability, and ongoing response to the data. This presentation was inspired during the Duke University Sports Performance Clinic.
